Another Xmas Wish...

...not work friendly but hilarious all the same! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcaXEJWVv-M PS: Sorry I don't know how to imbed the video into the post. :-(

Holiday Greetings for Everyone! :)

To my liberal, PC friends: From us ("the wishor") to you ("hereinafter called the wishee") Please accept without obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, politically correct, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all... and a financially successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but with due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures or sects whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the

From: Lucky Lotus Tattoo Co. Date: Dec 20, 2007 12:49 PM C.A.R.E. A Community of Advocates for Responsible E-commerce We are a non-partisan community, that is we have NO underlying political or religious agenda. We are simply a grass-roots community comprised of concerned, conscientious individuals from ALL walks-of-life, and YES, even preeminent Tattooers. C.A.R.E.’s current focus is the categorically irresponsible and apathetic blind-eye that Ebay has turned towards the selling of tattoo equipment and paraphernalia on its auction site. Ebay's Trust and Safety team is quoted as saying... “......eBay prohibits the sale of items or links to items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. In addition, eBay may remove listings as requested by law enforcement to cooperate with any investigation or to prevent harm to eBay and its members.” And yet, they carelessly disregard the potential for the irreversible injury and damage this equipment c

The Kitten Has a Name!

Leeloominal Lekatariva Lanina Tchai Ekbat De Sebat OR Leeloo Dallas Multipass Either way it's Leeloo and it's perfect for her. We've already started saying "Big Badda Boom" when she falls down (which is a lot, LOL).

Take Action to Support Independent Media!

From: Kuma Date: Dec 19, 2007 1:04 PM Hey, folks. For those of us who don't want a few big companies deciding what we see, hear, and read in the news, it's a bad day. The Bush-appointed FCC just voted to loosen media ownership rules so media titans like Rupert Murdoch can swallow up more local news outlets. They did this despite a huge public outcry--when the FCC asked for public comments, 99% opposed media consolidation! The last thing our democracy needs is fewer independent media voices and more corporate control. Congress has the power to reverse this rule change, and I just signed this petition asking Congress to do that. If you agree that this is an important issue, here's where you can add your voice: http://civ.moveon.org/mediaconsolidation/?r_by=11822-8234322-bTZeWF&rc=comment_paste Thanks, guys.

Holiday Wishes for All!

Since I've been mostly ignoring the holidays because we can't afford to celebrate them this year, I figured I could at least send out some holiday wishes. :) For My Democratic Friends: "Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the of the generally accepted calendar year 2008 , but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Gift Card Rip Off - Be Warned!

From: fatty mcpudgypants Date: Dec 17, 2007 2:48 PM So, over my lunch break I go out to buy gift cards for a few people on my list whom I have no idea what they would like as a holiday gift. I thought it might be a good idea to buy some of those Visa/Amex/MasterCard GCs to give them a variety of places to use thier GCs. Now, I've purchased many a GC at several places for presents. Never once have I had to fork over *more* than the car was worth. Not to mention that i could choose how much I put on the card. It appears the almighty Credit Card Corporations aren't making enough money already from gouging consumers with their ridiculously high interest rates. They feel the need to *charge* for the ever so esteemed priviledge of using their gift cards as well. I can understand the need to make a bit of money on these transactions, as the money is transfered from GC to the store. BUT 4 FREAKING DOLLARS ON A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE?!?!? WTF?!?! Am I missing something? Are the mighty cor

Take Action to Hold Contractors Accountable!

From: Kuma Date: Dec 14, 2007 2:09 PM Hey, guys... This one's pretty astounding. Jamie Leigh Jones was working in Iraq for a subsidiary of Halliburton when she was drugged and brutally gang-raped by several coworkers. For the last two years, she's been asking the US government to hold the perpetrators accountable, but the men who raped her may never be brought to justice because Halliburton and other contractors in Iraq aren't subject to US or Iraqi laws. I just signed a petition urging Congress to investigate the rape of Jamie Leigh Jones, hold those involved accountable, and bring US contractors under the jurisdiction of US law. Can you join me at the link below? http://pol.moveon.org/contractors_accountable/?r_by=11800-8234322-21Ui6V&rc=comment_paste Thanks a lot, folks. This kinda injustice cannot stand.

The Law of the Garbage Truck

Here's a little something the Sperm Donor sent over that I need to remember right now. Someone I thought was a good friend did this to me this week and our relationship has now been terminated as a result. Wow, what a bunch of crap! :-( ---------------------- How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee or friend ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly one can get back their focus on what's important. Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson in the back of a New York City taxi cab. Here's what happened: I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car

Stop Endless War in Iraq

President Bush is quietly negotiating an agreement with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to keep our troops there indefinitely--an agreement that could include permanent bases and a massive military presence for years. Congress can stop the president from setting up permanent bases in Iraq and block an indefinite occupation--but it's not clear that they will. They need to feel a groundswell of pressure from voters immediately and loudly so they act on this quickly. A compiled petition with your individual comment will be presented to your Senators and Representative. Sign the petition here: http://pol.moveon.org/pac/endless/

No tax breaks for environmental offenders!

From: Kuma Date: Dec 4, 2007 2:03 PM Hey guys... Right now, the Senate is finalizing the energy bill-- one that's been in the works for years. Congress is feeling intense pressure from big donors to keep tax breaks for massive corporate polluters. These companies are making record profits. They don't need giant tax breaks. Congress needs to hear from us, not corporate fat cats! Will you take a moment to demand that Congress stand firm, save clean energy, and promote a greener future? Go to: http://action.lcv.org/campaign/taxbreaks_congress Many thanks, folks.

Tell Governor to Pardon German Shepherd

From: Pepe Date: Dec 4, 2007 8:06 AM Congo, a German Shepherd, lives in Princeton, New Jersey. In June two gardeners came to his home and were asked to wait in their truck while the family penned the dogs up. The gardeners ignored the requests of the family. When they got out of the truck, Congo and the other dogs - like any friendly dog - came racing up to greet them. One gardener grabbed Congo's owner and put her between him and the dog. The other gardener grabbed a rake and hit one of Congo's puppies with it. Congo bit the man and he needed stitches. A judge in New Jersey has declared Congo "vicious" and is demanding he be put to sleep. This is ridiculous. Congo responded appropriately. How would you respond if your family was attacked? The gardeners responded inappropriately. Congo's owners have brought in numerous "character witnesses" on Congo's behalf: the mailman, various delivery personnel and others who have worked at their home. I'm as

Stop Rape and Other Violence Against Women in the DRC

From: Kuma Date: Dec 2, 2007 11:34 PM Hey, guys. The epidemic of rape and sexual violence in the war-torn country of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a humanitarian catastrophe. The urgency of the crisis cannot be overstated. The physical and emotional harm these women and girls face is staggering, and they rarely find the medical and psychological care they so desperately need. While the perpetrators of these horrific crimes move with impunity to their next victims, whole communities live in constant fear of the next wave of violence. The International Violence Against Women Act (S.2279) would significantly increase U.S. commitment to ending gender-based violence in the DRC and around the world. By passing the IVAWA, we will take a significant step toward addressing this type of violence in the DRC and other crisis regions around the world. If you're as outraged by this as I am, here's where you can add your voice: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/68121237

Help to stop an endless occupation in Iraq

From: Kuma Date: Nov 29, 2007 5:10 PM Hey, guys. President Bush is negotiating a deal with Iraq to keep our troops there indefinitely--it could include permanent bases and a massive military presence for years! Bush is trying to tie the hands of the next president. Congress can stop him from setting up permanent bases in Iraq and block an indefinite occupation--but they need to hear a groundswell of pressure from us immediately and loudly so they act on this quickly. I just signed a petition demanding that Congress stop the president from committing to a massive military presence in Iraq for decades. Can you join me? http://pol.moveon.org/endless/?r_by=11723-8234322-OAO3z6&rc=comment_paste Thanks!
